Hey folks!

Here is the cover for the "Lotus For Help" sketchbook I’m selling at Dragon Con this weekend in Atlanta!  You can buy a physical copy from me at the convention (I’ll be selling extras online, if I have any) and I’ll be preparing a digital version shortly after this weekend, so look forward to that.

I’ll be in the comic artists alley in the Grand Hall East at the Hyatt Regency this weekend, Friday the 29th - Monday the 1st.  Please come say hi if you’re gonna be there!

Hey folks!
Thank you for joining me!  My name is Drew Green and I’m the creator of the webcomic you quite probably are here to read (or so I hope!).
"Lotus For Help" follows the weird adventures of an ex-secret agent, her wizard boss, a bubbly demon summoner, and an invisible demon.  It’s here on this fateful night where we begin the tale that will cause their paths to cross, so I hope you enjoy the ride!
I would sincerely like to thank everyone who is joining me for the beginning of “Lotus For Help.”  Even in the first five pages, you’ll see how much I bounce around and experiment with coloring styles, backgrounds, etc., and I’m okay with that.  This will be an ever-evolving process and I’m excited to share it with you.
"Lotus For Help" will update every Wednesday (for now), so be sure to check back weekly to see how the story unfolds!

Hey folks!

I wanted to have a really nice piece representing both Nicki and Ross, the main characters of “Lotus For Help,” so I made sure to get this done before I sent my files off to the printers.  I was up pretty late, as you can imagine, having done both pieces in the second half of yesterday.

As with the Nicki piece, I used an image from the Lotus For Help sketchbook I’m working on (which…I’m hoping I can actually get finished in time!).  I haven’t shown that piece previously, but I completely changed Ross for this version of the image, so I kinda feel better about leaving the grayscale one in the sketchbook since it’s its own version.  He looks worried in the original sketch, but I don’t think that’s how Ross perceives the demons he summons.  He’s an optimist and kind of a sparkly fellow, so I want him to almost be like a magical girl in demeanor, except instead of magic it’s demons, and instead of a girl, he’s a guy.

I hope you like it!  “Lotus For Help” debuts next week, August 20th, at lotusforhelp.com!

Hey folks!

I’m putting together some last-ish-minute prints for Dragon Con, and this is one of them.  I had initially planned on just keeping it in the sketchbook, but I liked it so much that I did it up all fancy.  It’ll be on sale at the convention!

Remember, Lotus For Help begins August 20th, right here!

Enjoy!

I don’t have a job.

Not in the traditional sense, anyway.

I think there’s possibly a misconception about me that I’m employed with an animation studio and/or working in the cartoon business, but that simply isn’t true.  I desperately want to be working in the animation business, but believe it or not, I make my living doing commissions.

It’s tough.  It doesn’t pay very well and - at the risk of shooting myself in the foot - I’m not usually drawing the sorts of things that I want to be drawing.  It takes up an enormous amount of time, and the truth is, the payoff isn’t worth it.  It hasn’t been worth it in a long time.  I’m back in that position where I can’t afford to say no, and that’s a hard place to be (as I’m sure many of you know, particularly you fellow artists).  I appreciate the years of business I’ve gotten from kind folks on the internet such as yourselves, and I’ll have to continue doing commissions for now, but I’m sure you can understand where I’m coming from.

I live in Atlanta, but I need to be in L.A.  I’m in the process of figuring out the best way to realistically make that happen.  I’m afraid to move out there without a job in place, but at this point, just being out there will be good for me.

In the meantime, if any of you know anyone that may be interested in my skills for a position on, say, a show or at an animation studio or something similar, let me know and/or pass my name along.  I hate how candid this is…I’m not usually quite so raw openly.  But enough is enough.  The measly little system I’ve built for myself here has failed me, and continues to fail me, and I’m not sure how much more I can take.

So yeah.  let me know.  My email is snailsvenuedrew@gmail.com

Hey folks!

These are the first “Lotus For Help” tee shirt designs!  I’ve uploaded them to my Redbubble, should you choose to purchase one (you can choose your shirt color, by the way!).  I’ll be wearing the Ross design at Dragon Con here in Atlanta at the end of this month, with my table assistant, Lauren, wearing the Nicki design.  Fun times!

"Lotus For Help" begins on August 20th, at lotusforhelp.com

PS:  No, Nicki isn’t a robot.

Hey folks!

I haven’t animated in about 7 years, so I think I did a pretty good job with this all things considered.  It was super fun and really zen to work on - great for relieving all of the stress I’m under right now with a bunch of life stuff.  I hope you dig it!

UPDATE:  If the GIF doesn’t animate for some reason, you can see it here and it should work fine:  https://38.media.tumblr.com/f6fd8cd38c2cc1cb745db52a0f7a96db/tumblr_n9fre5pbYy1qgt3neo1_500.gif

Animated in Photoshop CS6.  It miiiiight be playing a little faster than I intended, but I had to fuss with it a lot just to get it to work properly, so it’s no big deal.

"Lotus For Help" (a webcomic, not a cartoon - sadly) debuts at the official site on August 20th.  That website is a tumblr blog, so you can either bookmark it or follow it on tumblr!  How convenient!
